Police: Driver hit vehicle, jumped from highway overpass
EAST HARTFORD (AP) — Connecticut State Police say a driver jumped from a highway overpass after his vehicle hit another car.
Police say the man was traveling at a high rate of speed on state Route 2 when his car struck the other vehicle from behind Saturday in East Hartford. The man's car spun out of control and hit a concrete barrier while the other vehicle veered left into a guardrail.
Police say the 29-year-old man then intentionally leapt from the overpass. He received injuries not considered life-threatening.
The man was issued infractions for following too close and operating without a license.
The two occupants of the other vehicle were hospitalized in unknown condition.
