Police: Bridgeport man riding in car struck, killed by brick

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police say a Connecticut man was killed after he was struck by a brick thrown at a car he was riding in.

Police say three men were riding in Bridgeport around 8:40 p.m. Saturday when a group of people they were passing began throwing rocks and a brick at the car, smashing the windshield and passenger's window.

Forty-one-year-old Edy Morales of Bridgeport was hit in the head by the brick. He was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say police are investigating the incident as a homicide. Police say it's unclear what prompted the crowd to start throwing rocks.

The death marks the city's fourth homicide this year.
