WESTERLY, R.I. (AP) — A restaurant worker is recovering after police say she was struck by a car while walking home from her shift.
The Westerly Sun reports Sierra Gosselin, who works at the Bridge Restaurant, was in the middle of a crosswalk on Main Street Friday when a man driving a rental car struck her head-on.
Police say the impact sent her flying back several feet. Westerly Police Capt. Shawn Lacey says Gosselin suffered minor injuries, and she is expected to make a full recovery.
The 59-year-old driver has been cited for failure to grant right of way to a pedestrian.
