"Avenue Q," the musical, is a hoot, and the Chestnut Street Playhouse production of "Avenue Q" certainly does this impudent show justice. Director Shane William Kegler and the actors know how to mine "Q's" sassy (and occasionally profane) humor. A lot of the cast members, too, have strong, lovely voices and a real way with a lyric. The story: Imagine if "Sesame Street" characters had to deal with adult issues. The songs: They are effervescent creations by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez, the latter of whom co-created "The Book of Mormon" and co-wrote songs for the movie "Frozen."
