Ally Hilfiger's 'Bite Me' details her battle with Lyme disease

"Bite Me: How Lyme Disease Stole My Childhood, Made Me Crazy and Almost Killed Me" is an interesting mix of elements. On one level, it's about a young woman's fight with the horribly painful effects of Lyme disease. On another level, it's a peek into the lifestyles of the offspring of the rich and famous. Ally Hilfiger is the daughter of designer Tommy Hilfiger, and there's plenty of name-dropping and wealthy-life-detailing in her nonfiction book (the Hilfigers had a house in Mustique where the Jaggers were neighbors; Ally starred in MTV's reality show "Rich Kids"). But Hilfiger ably and emotionally conveys the torture she went through when she was misdiagnosed for nearly 14 years, leaving her suffering with untreated Lyme disease symptoms, from muscle pain to mental fuzziness.
