Maurice Hines is the latest star to perform at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook and have the show filmed for the nationally televised program "The Kate."

Hines, of course, is a legendary dancer who's been Off-Broadway with his hit "Tappin' Thru Life."

In the show that he'll do at the Kate, Hines honors Gregory Hines, his brother and dancing partner who died in 2003 after a battle with cancer. He also discusses what and who influenced his love of show business, with names like Lena Horne and Frank Sinatra among them.

Hines will sing, tap and reflect on his life, and he'll be joined by the nine-woman Diva Jazz Orchestra and by tap duo the Manzari Brothers.

Maurice Hines, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; $55-$65; 1-877-503-1286.
