Live Lunch Break Flashback - The Whales
It’s always rough to schedule band rehearsals and gigs when the musicians get older and have kids and actual GOOD day jobs. This certainly applies to the exquisite garage-pop band The Whales — who had quite a local following back in the ’80s, when the world was young. It also doesn’t help that the drummer lives in California. Whatever! The quartet — bassist To Benoit, guitarists Wayne Cobleigh and Eddie Sabukewicz, and (West Coaster) Bill Dumas — all happen to be in New England for the next several weeks. We snagged the band for a helluva show Thursday as guests on The Day’s “Live Lunch Break” concert series in the Hygienic Art Park. Don’t fret it if you couldn’t make it. We archive all of our performances at theday.com/livelunch. Enjoy the greatness!
