"The Ocean Fixes Everything" fundraiser will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Miracle Temple Church (the former Second Congregational Church) at 45 Broad St., New London.

The event, organized by Jane Loeser Clukay, is modeled after the "Pass the Guitar" event for the homeless held by Hugh Birdsall at the All Souls Universalist Church recently. Performers will play one song, then pass the microphone to the next performer. Performers have been asked to offer a song that will bring people together.

The proceeds will go to New London "in gratitude for all the services (such as police and fire) and institutions (such as Ocean Beach Park) which all of us in the surrounding communities benefit from while New London, with a significant amount of tax-exempt property, bears the brunt of the cost alone," according to event publicity.

To attend, go to the Facebook Event Page "The Ocean Fixes Everything" and select "Going." People will be put on a Guest List, which will be the basis for admission to the event. The event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $10 to the cause.
