    Historian Nathaniel Philbrick talks about his latest book

    New York Times bestselling author Nathaniel Philbrick talks about his latest book, “Valiant Ambition,” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Congregational Church in Norwich.

    Bank Square Books and the Norwich Historical Society are hosting the author talk and book signing.

    “Valiant Ambition” details the messy middle years of the American Revolution and the tragic relationship of George Washington and Norwich native Benedict Arnold.

    Philbrick’s other bestselling history books include “In the Heart of the Sea,” winner of the National Book Award; “Mayflower,” finalist for the Pulitzer Prize; “Bunker Hill,” winner of the New England Book Award; “Sea of Glory”; “The Last Stand”; “Why Read Moby Dick?”; and “Away Off Shore”. He lives in Nantucket.

    The First Congregational Church is located at 81 E. Town St. in Norwich.
