"The Winter Tour" brings four metal acts Wednesday to 33 Golden Street.

Three times since Halloween, I've had to scrape frost off my car windshield. I don't care about the exact meteorological or chronological delineations of when one season starts or ends or which Solstice gives way to what Equinox.

If I'm scraping frost off my windshield, winter has arrived.

Apparently, four metal bands feel the same way. Headed up by Boston's extreme melodic quintet Aversed, the "Winter is Here" tour is on the road — snow tires on the vans, please! — and arrives in New London Wednesday for a show at 33 Golden Street. Also on the bill are Ice Giant, Episodes and Casting Shadows. Think of the evening as a hearty dose of musical antifreeze.
