Flock holds 'Sense & Sensibility,' Shakespeare auditions

Flock Theatre will hold auditions for their upcoming spring production of Jane Austen’s "Sense & Sensibility" (adapted by Jon Jory) and summer productions of William Shakespeare’s "Henry IV, Part I" and "Henry IV, Part II." The plays will be performed at the Shaw Mansion and The Connecticut College Arboretum, respectively. Actors of all ages and experience are welcome.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, by appointment only at The Thames Club, 290 State St., New London. Sides for actors will be provided. To set up a time or for further inquiry, email flocktheatre@hotmail.com.

"Sense & Sensibility" is among Jane Austen’s most celebrated works of classic romance. The young Dashwood sisters, one “sensible” and the other passionate, navigate love, romance, and heartbreak. Performances will run from mid-May into June.

Flock Theatre’s Summer Shakespeare in the Arboretum is the region’s longest uninterrupted outdoor Shakespeare festival. Continuing their “War of the Roses” series, Henry IV parts I and II tell the story of King Henry IV and his wayward son Hal’s reformation. It also features the audience favorite Falstaff. Dates have yet to be finalized, but, most likely, performances will be July into August.
