    Music tip: Beach House's "7"

Dream-pop band Beach House recently release their seventh album, “7,” and the results are a doorway into an escapist, introspective world of synthesizers and revolving basslines. If you aren’t familiar with the two-person band from Baltimore, they have often been compared to Slowdive, Mazzy Star and Tame Impala — but with a more French-ified touch, thanks to vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand, who is a Paris native. The band formed in 2004 after Legrand met Alex Scally (guitarist, keyboardist and backup vocalist) in Baltimore’s indie-rock scene. Overall, “7” showcases the duo reaching greater depths together than on past albums (though those are good, too). “Lemon Glow,” in particular, beckons listeners to lose themselves in a revolving dreamscape, with lyrics such “When you turn the lights down low. Lemon color, honey glow,” that are sure to put you in a daze. Following that is “L’Inconnue,” a track that engrosses with its angelic voices, French and English lyrics, and church-like divinity.
