Heavy hand of U.S falls on Iran, but not Israel

The U.S. warned Iran on Tuesday that "time and patience is running out" over its suspect nuclear program, saying Tehran had shown

    no interest in allaying world

    fears.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs reiterated U.S. warnings of "consequences" if Iran continues to develop uranium enrichment capabilities.

In contrast, time and patience never runs out for Israel. Israel is the only Mideast country that has a stockpile of nuclear weapons. The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad is a suspect in the Jan. 20 assassination of Palestinian leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai in an act of state terrorism.

Last winter Israel waged a genocidal attack on civilians of Gaza. Israel makes a mockery of U.N. resolutions with zero repercussions from the international community. Rules of decency and fair play do not apply to Israel.

Why should the world fear Iran for its alleged evil intentions when it tolerates Israel's evil actions? Is this because, in a sad and twisted way, the U.S. and Israel are birds of a feather?

Or is it that the suffering

of Jewish people during the Holocaust has entitled Israel a

    waiver to moral decency for

    eternity?

Editor's Note: The killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh remains under investigation in Dubai. Mr. al-Mabhouh was a founding member of Hamas' military wing.
