    Missing statue likely not work of Saint-Gaudens

    Norwich - The bronze statue stolen from Sarah Osgood's grave in the Yantic Cemetery likely was not the work of famed New Hampshire sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, an expert on his work has said.Henry J. Duffy, museum curator at the Saint-Gaudens Historic Site in Cornish, N.H., told Slater Memorial Museum Curator Vivian Zoe that there is no evidence that Saint-Gaudens sculpted the bronze statue of a life-size woman kneeling atop Sarah Osgood's gravestone. Osgood died in 1881.
