Judge too lenient on violent offenders

So what is wrong with you, Judge Patrick J. Clifford, why didn't you sentence these convicts to maximum incarceration?

I refer to 29-year old Curbit B. McCullough Jr., whom you sentenced to 20 years in prison for the execution-style killing of a man in November 2005 and for shooting another person in the back two weeks later.

Then after that you sentenced Spencer Jenkins, who broke into his former girlfriend's home in Pawcatuck while she was sleeping and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint. He received only eight years in prison and 10 years of special parole, after he repeatedly ignored court restraining orders. I'm sure they can be rehabilitated.

Judge, throw them in a cell, weld the door shut and never let them out. They are dangerous predators. Society not only needs permanent protection from them but demands you and the other judges to stop these lenient slap-on-the-hand sentences.

These animals have proven by their ongoing conduct that they are not fit to be in human society. You are guilty of too much liberal prisoner pity, with little real justice - or pity for the victims.

Here's an idea for you, judge. Why don't you invite them to come live next to you when they get parole or are released? They will be living somewhere so why not where you can keep an eye on them.
