Here's a perfect intro to ballet, for kids and for pretty much anyone else.
Mystic Ballet is performing its version of "Snow White," which is part of its fabled Dance Me A Story - Family Series. Matinees happen this Saturday and two Saturdays after that.
The creative choreography is set to the classical Pavlovsky score. The sets and costumes take their look from storybooks, and there are visual effects - the Enchanted Mirror goes from inanimate object to living thing, and a floating apple emerges from a cauldron.
A great additional aspect to the performances: Audience members can arrive early to hear the choreographers talk about the show beforehand, and they can stay after for a Q&A with the dancers.
