    Washington Trust honors civic-minded employees

The Washington Trust Co. has honored three of its employees for their extensive community service, saying their civic commitment exemplifies the bank's core values.

The Westerly-based bank, whose service area includes portions of southeastern Connecticut, said it has honored Vice President and Underwriting Manager Sharon Arruda of Westerly, Weston Financial Group Associate Counselor Will LeFavor of Mansfield, Mass., and Vice President and Branch Manager Keith Lavimodiere of Cranston.

The three were honored during the company's annual "Employee Fest," which celebrates Washington Trust employees' service on the job and in the community.

"It is an honor to recognize Sharon, Will and Keith as they truly embody the spirit and values of Washington Trust," said Joseph Marc-Aurele, Washington Trust's chairman, president and chief executive officer, in a statement announcing the employee honors. "To be recognized by your peers is one of the greatest compliments anyone can receive and these three individuals have earned that honor," he said.

Washington Trust officials said Arruda and LeFavor each earned The Spirit of Washington Trust Award. Criteria for the award include service, teamwork, and exemplifying Washington Trust's core values of community, integrity and quality.

Lavimodiere, who manages Washington Trust's Reservoir Avenue branch in Cranston, received the Community Service Award, which recognizes employees who make a significant contribution to the community.

Arruda joined Washington Trust in 1986 in a secretarial position and has since advanced through the company, now serving as vice president. LeFavor has been with Weston Financial Group, a division of Washington Trust Wealth Management, in Wellesley, Mass., since 2005.

Washington Trust is a subsidiary of Washington Trust Bancorp, in Westerly.
