Paffard Woods

Where to Park: There is parking for several cars at a small unpaved lot beside the trailhead.
Description: A blue-blazed trail affords mostly easy hiking through 62-acres of woodlands and wetlands interspersed with stone walls.
Regulations: Open sunrise to sunset; dogs must be on a leash no longer than 7 feet at all times; passive recreational uses – hiking, birdwatching, photography – are permitted. No bikes or horses.
Amenities: None.
Natural Features: In addition to the wooded areas where the trails are located, the preserve also protects grasslands that are important for migratory and ground-nesting birds. Its proximity to Quanaduck Cove also makes this an important area for birds.
Fees: None. Users of properties are encouraged to become members in Avalonia, as there are costs associated with maintenance. Membership forms are available at: http://www.avalonialandconservancy.org/DONORS-MEMBERSINFO.html
Things to Note: Due to many wetlands and streams on the property, trails are often muddy in spots.
