    New London homicide victim identified

The man who was fatally shot during a home invasion on Montauk Avenue in New London early Saturday has been identified by court officials as 25-year-old Jorge Rosa.

Rosa, whose street name was "Loco," lived at 252 Montauk Ave., where police said they responded at 4:17 a.m. Saturday for a report of a shooting. They said they found the victim on the third floor with fatal gunshot wounds. A spokeswoman at the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said an autopsy may be conducted later today.

The city police have charged two people in the shooting; one of them, 18-year-old Davion Smith, of 93 State Pier Road, Apt. E7, apparently remains at large.

The other, 20-year-old Evan J. Holmes of 46 Williams St., was arrested about 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Days Inn in Old Saybrook. He is expected to be arraigned later this morning in New London Superior Court on charges of murder, home invasion and first-degree burglary.
