Hamden - The Williams School boys had a pair of double winners during Wednesday's Connecticut Independent Schools Athletic Conference swimming championships at Hamden Hall.

Caius Mergy won the 200 individual medley in 2:10.62 and 100 breaststroke in 1:06.17 for the Blues, who placed second as a team, while Adam Collins captured the 50 freestyle in 24.18 and the 100 freestyle in 53.63. They were also part of the winning 200 medley relay team (2:01.64).

In the girls' meet, Samantha Linhares won two events, setting a school record in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.63) and capturing the 100 freestyle in 59.88. Williams placed third as a team and also won the 200 medley relay in 2:09.89.

H.S. girls' basketball

• Ledyard beat Griswold 48-25 in a nonleague game, which closed out the regular season for both teams.

Michelle Klinikowski had 15 points and Kylie Fustini scored 14 for Ledyard (13-7). Samantha Rentz and Kirsten Drobiak scored 10 points each for Griswold (6-14).

• Capri DeBiccari scored 17 points, had six rebounds and five steals, leading Williams School to a 42-18 win over Providence Country Day. Marion Philippe scored 14 with six rebounds for Williams (4-10).

H.S. boys' basketball

• Rashad Young had 29 points as Williams won its seventh straight game, a 55-50 win at Falmouth Academy, and qualified for the SENE tournament. The Blues (7-10) will host Rocky Hill (R.I.) in the first round next Wednesday.

• East Windsor beat Lyman Memorial 38-36 in a nonleague game. Keith Chamberlain had eight points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots and Chris Gonnelli scored 10 for Lyman (3-15).

• Norwich Tech's Drake Baton scored 28 points, but the Warriors lost to O'Brien Tech 71-62 in a Constitution State Conference game. Scott Ezold had 17 points and Ashbow Sebastian scored 14 for Norwich Tech (4-16).

College men's basketball

• A.J. English scored 20 points to help lead St. Thomas More to an 81-67 win over Winchendon. Rodney Sanders had 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Curtis Jones and Barrington Stevens each scored 11 and former New London High standout Torin Childs-Harris had 10 points for T-More (24-6).

College women's basketball

• Leslie Leong had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Wellesley to a 54-46 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Larla Brown came off the bench to score 16 for Coast Guard (5-18, 1-16).
