Leon Moore gets GOP nod for Montville house seat
Montville - The Republican Town Committee on Thursday nominated Leon Moore as its candidate for the 139th House of Representatives.
Moore, who is running a second time, replaces Dana McFee on the ticket. McFee, who was endorsed by the committee last month, decided to step down for personal reasons, town chairman Thomas McNally said.
"My big push is to go up there and take a stand with whoever is willing to stand with me to bring Connecticut's financial order back where it needs to be," Moore said on Friday. "I'll stand up with anyone who wants to bring the state's fiscal order back in check."
Moore, an active member of the Montville VFW, is retired after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He is seeking to become a volunteer emergency medical technician in the Oakdale Fire Department.
