Norwich – The Internal Revenue Service has filed an income tax lien against Norwich area Probate Judge Charles Norris and his wife, Lynn Norris, a Norwich Board of Education member totaling $199,754 for the 2009 and 2010 tax years.

The lien was recorded Monday on the Norwich land records.

Charles Norris said today that he has an accountant negotiating with the IRS and expects to resolve the lien and taxes and penalties owed within a year.

“I’m working it out with them,” Norris said.

Norris, a Norwich attorney, was an 11-year Republican member of the Norwich Board of Education. He resigned in December 2010 after he was elected to the newly consolidated and expanded Norwich probate district. His wife, Lynn, a teacher, then won a seat on the Board of Education last November.
