David Sugrue, 9, of Waterford sells lemonade in front of his grandparents' home Wednesday on Ocean Avenue in New London. This is the second year of David selling lemonade on the Fourth of July to raise money for his plan to go to Yale University. David said he decided to go to Yale after watching a television show on the best colleges in the United States and learned that Yale was in New Haven. David's career plans include someday being elected first selectman of Waterford, then governor of Connecticut, with the final goal of being the president of the United States. Last year he raised $60 charging 75 cents a glass. This year he was waiting until the end of the day to count how much he'd raised, wanting to be surprised.
