Norwich — Thirty sailors helped temporarily relocate a local soup kitchen and food pantry July 10.

The sailors from the Naval Submarine Base, Naval Submarine School, Group Two and North Dakota (SSN 784) moved everything from pots and pans to canned goods, refrigerators and stoves. Twelve truck loads and nearly five hours later, all of the necessary items were moved to a temporary location so St. Vincent de Paul Place could open.

Senior Chief Machinist’s Mate Richard Hicks said, “It’s always good to give back.”
