Mass. police close I-195 to catch television thief

Fall River, Mass. - Police say three New Bedford residents led officers on a chase that shut down Interstate 195 after stealing a television from a Target store in Swansea. The Fall River Herald reports that Brittany Ann Sampson, Juan Goyca and Kevin Pimental are being held in jail on larceny charges following Thursday's incident. Police say an officer saw the suspects' vehicle speed out of the store parking lot and run a red light. Police say that following a brief chase, Goyca exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The interstate was closed in both directions while officers conducted a search. Sampson's attorney says Goyca used a gun to force her to drive, an account disputed by Goyca's attorney. Pimental's attorney says his client only rode in the vehicle.
