WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (AP) — A 28-year-old woman killed in a Florida parasailing accident was from Wethersfield.
Authorities say Kathleen Miskell was parasailing with her husband, Stephen in Pompano Beach, Fla. Wednesday when her harness broke and she plummeted as much as 200 feet into the Atlantic Ocean.
Pompano Beach spokeswoman Sandra King says the boat crew reeled in her husband and circled back to rescue Miskell. King says she was in cardiac arrest and the captain performed CPR until the boat met up with paramedics. Authorities say Miskell was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Neighbors say the Miskells moved into their home on Highview Avenue about a year ago. They described Kathleen Miskell as outgoing and nice.
