Lynx 83, Shock 59

Maya Moore scored 22 points and Minnesota pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Tulsa and clinch a playoff spot at the earliest point in franchise history.

Lindsay Whalen had 15 points and Seimone Augustus 14 for Minnesota (17-4), which won its fourth straight. The defending champion Lynx didn't clinch a postseason berth until their 26th game last season.

Whalen also had four assists to pass Katie Smith for the franchise lead with 498.

Glory Johnson led Tulsa (3-17) with 17 points. The Shock have lost four straight overall and remain winless in eight road games this season. Five of Tulsa's next seven games are away from home.

Minnesota, which has beaten the Shock four times this year by an average of 20 points, shot 50 percent from the field and had a 38-27 edge in rebounding. This was the third meeting in four games between the teams, who also played a home-and-home series before the Olympic break.

Silver Stars 89, Mercury 47

Becky Hammon scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half to lead San Antonio past Phoenix, extending its franchise-best winning streak to 11 games and handing the Mercury their worst loss.

Hammon, a member of the Russian Olympic team that lost in the bronze-medal game to Australia, made two 3-pointers in the first half as the Silver Stars built a 19-point lead by the break.

Alexis Hornbuckle had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Mercury, who have lost eight straight, dating back to July 1.

The 42-point margin surpassed an 89-48 loss to Seattle on July 19, 2002.

It was also the most lopsided game of the season for both teams as San Antonio hadn't won by more than 21 and Phoenix's worst loss a 22-point defeat to Minnesota in the season opener.

Mystics 75, Sky 71

Matee Ajavon scored 22 points and Jasmine Thomas made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 16 seconds left in overtime as Washington outlasted Chicago to snap an eight-game losing streak against the Sky.

Crystal Langhorne had 18 points for the Mystics (5-16), who had lost two straight and played for the third time in four days since returning from the month-long Olympic break.

Epiphanny Prince scored 18 points and her free throws with 26.7 seconds left in overtime put the Sky (8-11) up 71-70. Ajavon, whose 3 with 1.7 seconds left in regulation tied the game, fouled out on the play.

Thomas stepped up on the next possession with her first field goal since the first half, putting Washington in front 73-71. Monique Currie made two free throws with 7.7 seconds left following a clear path foul.

Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 16 rebounds for the Sky, losers of six straight games.

Thomas finished with eight points and a career-high eight assists.
