Recently, a letter to the editor, "Cartoonist clearly no fan of Ayn Rand," (Sept. 3), suggested that "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand should be required reading in colleges with a liberal agenda.
The writer did not mention if in the curriculum it would be required viewing of Alan Greenspan appearing before Congress after the near collapse of our economy. (See PBS Frontline on Youtube.)
Greenspan was the number "Number 1" student and disciple of Alisa Rosenbaum, aka Ayn Rand, and publicly admitted that his philosophy of self-regulating markets of laissez-faire capitalism was flawed.
Notwithstanding Alan Greenspan's repudiation as Rosenbaum guru, I would guess that our apologist for Alisa Rosenbaum would argue that the video of Allen Greenspan on PBS Frontline was not "objective" and had nothing to do with laissez faire capitalism.
