    Explore New England’s early meetinghouses

    The Florence Griswold Museum will host the 2012 Thorne Lecture on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme at 2 Ferry Road.

    This annual lecture presents noted authorities in the field of American culture. This year, Peter Benes, director of the Dublin Seminar for New England Folklife at Historic Deerfield, speaks about the meetinghouses of early New England. Benes is also the author of "Meetinghouses of Early New England." A book signing and light reception follows the presentation.
