Mystic Christmas tree arriving Tuesday

Published November 19. 2012 1:45PM   Updated November 20. 2012 10:32AM

The Christmas tree displayed each year in the Mystic River Park will be put up in the late morning Tuesday.

Each year the tree is donated by a member of the community, and this year it has come from the yard of Judy Lathrop of North Stonington. Led by Jeff Marshall, the crew from Mystic Shipyard cuts down the tree each year and moves it to the Mystic River Park, where it is proudly displayed throughout the holiday season. The official tree lighting will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m., followed by the Annual Holiday Lighted Boat Parade.
