Nominees Needed, Education Hall of Fame

    Posted By: Pam Johnson

Letters of nomination are being accepted, via email through Jan. 9, for the next inductees into the Branford Education Hall of Fame.

Typed letters of nomination for 2013 honorees can be sent to Murray-thomas@SBCGlobal.net. All must letters describe in detail specifically how the nominee has made significant contributions to learning in Branford.  The letters, which appear anonymously, will be compiled in the Book of Nominations to stand in perpetuity and will be discussed at an open meeting Jan. 10, 7 p.m. at the Branford Community House.

During the Jan. 10 nominating meeting, members of the public invited to hear letters regarding those nominated to become candidates for year’s honor.  Then, at a Jan. 23 open meeting at 7 p.m. at Branford Community House, a public vote will be held to select which candidates should become the 10 new honorees, to be formally inducted in April, 2013.

Started in 1998, Branford Education Hall of Fame “…takes a broad view of the term ‘education,’” said co-founder Thomas Murray. Each year, the volunteer organization recognizes individuals, both living as well as those who have passed on, whose work has enhanced, expanded and facilitated learning for Branford citizens.
