    Police seize synthetic marijuana at Groton convenience store

    Groton — Town police said Tuesday that they seized more that 70 bags of synthetic marijuana at Cory’s Food Mart on Route 12.

    Police along with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service have been investigating illegal drug trafficking, including the sale and use of synthetic drugs like spice and other hallucinogens.

    The joint task force executed a search and seizure warrant Tuesday at the convenience store. The Department of Consumer Protection Drug Control Division and state Department of Revenue also assisted with the investigation.

    Police said they also seized various drug paraphernalia.

    The investigation in ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time, police said.
