Bruins 1, Maple Leafs 0

Chris Bourque scored his first goal with the Bruins and Boston held on to edge the Toronto on Saturday night.

The Bruins threatened throughout the tightly played game, but James Reimer stopped 33 shots from all angles as Boston came at him in waves.

The Bruins (6-1-1) limited the Leafs to 21 shots and killed off two penalties in the last nine minutes to hang on to beat Toronto (4-4).

Boston is 24-5-5 in its last 34 games against Toronto and 13-2-3 in its past 18 visits to Toronto.

Tuukka Rask, acquired from Toronto for Andrew Raycroft in 2006, earned the win.

Rangers 3, Lightning 2

Rick Nash scored a go-ahead goal early in the third period and New York beat Tampa Bay.

The Rangers took a 2-1 lead on Nash's second goal of the season, coming at 3:04 of the third period. He skated in from the right wing boards, eluded Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman and jammed the puck past goalie Mathieu Garon.

Carl Hagelin made it 3-1 with 5:13 to play with his first goal in 20 games. Derek Stepan also scored for New York.

Steven Stamkos scored both goals for the Lightning.

Penguins 5, Devils 1

Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz each had a goal and two assists, and Pittsburgh picked up its first home victory of the season.

Penguins defenseman Robert Bortuzzo scored his first NHL goal, Brandon Sutter got his first with Pittsburgh and Kris Letang also found the back of the net for the Penguins.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 15 shots for the win.

Andy Greene scored a short-handed goal for the Devils. Martin Brodeur was sharp through two periods, stopping 17 of 19 shots, but allowed three goals in the third.

Flyers 5, Hurricanes 3

Claude Giroux and Danny Briere each had a goal and an assist to help Philadelphia beat Carolina.

Kurtis Foster, Brayden Coburn and Mike Knuble also scored for the Flyers.

Joni Pitkanen, Eric Staal and Patrick Dwyer had Carolina's goals.

Ilya Bryzgalov made several tough saves among his 39 stops for the Flyers.

Canadiens 6, Sabres 1

Rene Bourque and David Desharnais each scored twice to lead Montreal.

Carey Price made 30 saves for the Canadiens for his fifth win of the season. Lars Eller added a goal and two assists, while rookie Brendan Gallagher also scored.

Ryan Miller stopped 17 shots over two periods for Buffalo before being replaced in the third by backup Jhonas Enroth.

Avalanche 3, Oilers 1

P.A. Parenteau and Jamie McGinn scored goals 3 minutes, 29 seconds apart in the second period to help Colorado rally past Edmonton.

Paul Stastny also scored and Semyon Varlamov made 25 saves for Colorado.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 37 shots and Nail Yakupov scored for the Oilers.

Blue Jackets 4, Red Wings 2

Artem Anisimov scored twice in the second period, and Steve Mason stopped 32 shots to lead Columbus.

Mark Letestu added a short-handed goal, and James Wisniewski also scored for the Blue Jackets before leaving with an injury after he struck the end boards with his back early in the second period.

Coyotes 2, Stars 0

Mike Smith stopped 17 shots and Phoenix was at its tight-checking best in its win over Dallas.

Nick Johnson scored his third goal of the season and Mikkel Boedker his second for the Coyotes, who have points in four straight games.

The Coyotes have gotten back to their stay-at-home style that helped them reach the Western Conference finals last season.

Phoenix kept the Stars to the outside offensively most of the night while getting sticks and their bodies in the way whenever they tried to shoot. Smith was there to turn away anything that reached the net for his 20th career shutout, first this season.
