    Florence Griswold Museum: A history

The Mystic River Historical Society will present a talk by Carolyn Wakeman, an author and trustee of the Florence Griswold Museum, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27. Wakeman grew up in Old Lyme and has recently returned after a teaching career in China and, more recently, at the University of California at Berkeley.

Wakeman's program, "Linking History and Art at the Florence Griswold Museum," will feature old letters, maps, ledgers and photographs in the Lyme Historical Society Archives housed at the Florence Griswold Museum.

The program takes place at the Mystic Congregational Church Parish Hall, 43 East Main St., Mystic, and will be followed by a question and answer period and refreshments. It is free and open to the public. For information, call (860) 536-4779 or email info@mystichistory.org.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
