    Celticity performs in concert

The Celticity musicians are, from left, Megan Sweeney, Phred Mileski and Sylvie Harris.

Chelsea Players turns 30 this year, and it's celebrating in fine style. It's staging three plays over the course of 2013, and it's hosting at least five concerts, starting with a performance by Celticity on Saturday as part of Chelsea Players' Coffeehouse Concert Series.

Celticity - which brings a contemporary edge to traditional Celtic music - consists of Sylvie Harris on guitar and Celtic banjo; Megan Sweeney on flutes, piccolo, fife and pennywhistle; and Phred Mileski on vocals, bodhran, psaltery, and accordion. (Mileski, by the way, has a past Chelsea Players connection; she played Bunny in 1987's "House of Blue Leaves.")

The trio of performers are classically trained. Harris and Sweeney both studied at the Hartt School of Music, with Harris also studying at the New England Conservatory of Music. Mileski is a Connecticut College alum, and she has sung various types of music, from opera to folk.
