Ledyard — Police are looking for a man who may have tried to break into a home on Shewville Road late Monday morning.

Police said the resident of the house, which is located between Gallup Hill and Whitford roads, said she saw a man standing below a window in the front of her residence near the front door. When confronted, the man said he was looking for a gas station and left. A short time later, the resident notice the screen near where the man was standing had been partially cut.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact the Ledyard Police Department at (860) 464-6400.
