    Concert benefits Chester Historical Society

The Side Doors perform at the Chester Meeting House. KEN FRYER

Musicians are, for the most part, kindly souls. (Maybe not you, Geto Boys and Mayhem.)

Local rock bands Side Doors and the Dizzy River Band share a bill Saturday in the Chester Meeting House in support of the Chester Historical Society. All proceeds benefit the society's programs and the Chester Museum at the Mill.

What else is cool about this? The performances will be taped for eventual release as a live album. Too, desserts, coffee and wine will be served at the show.

    - RICK KOSTER

Benefit concert, 8 p.m. Saturday, Chester Meeting House, 4 Liberty St., Chester; Side Doors and the Dizzy River Band; $20; (860) 526-5781, chesterhistoricalsociety.org.
