Groton — Lawrence + Memorial Hospital will host an educational session about incontinence from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Groton Senior Center.
Physical therapist Christine Ladyga will address the topic, explaining how some types of incontinence can be successfully treated with physical therapy. She will explain the role of the pelvic floor muscles and how physical therapy can help. A questionnaire will also be provided to help assess overall bladder function.
This session is part of a series offered by L+M about specific health concerns affecting seniors. A new topic will be presented each month until June. Hearing will be the topic of the May 23 talk, and the series will conclude June 27 with a discussion on falls.
