Voluntown man arrested on drug charges

Preston — A Voluntown man stopped by police last week for driving an unregistered vehicle is facing a host of drug-related charges, state police said Monday.

On July 18, the Preston resident trooper’s office was conducting a drunk driving patrol in the area of route 164 and 165 when they stopped a vehicle driven by Michael Falade, 28, of Voluntown.

Police said they discovered two bags of marijuana in the vehicle, along with “drug manufacturing equipment and items consistent with drug paraphernalia,” according to a statement from police.

Falade was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory situation and illegal possession of narcotics. He is due to appear Aug. 1 in Norwich Superior Court.
