'Peg' Curtin getting job done for NL's students

I am writing this letter in support of Margaret "Peg" Curtin, who is seeking re-election to the New London Board of Education. During her last two years as a board member where she has served as president for this past year, she's shown strong commitment and dedication to doing what's in the best interest of our students, teachers and community. In her past year as president, she has worked to help the board build better relationships with the mayor and City Council; organized an ad-hoc committee consisting of parents, community members and stakeholders; continued meetings with parents and community members and re-opened communication and meetings with the New London Teacher's Association, to name a few.

New London's school system is making progress, with test scores improving, implementation of a five-year Strategic Operating Plan and the move to an all- magnet school district. We are fortunate to have a leader in our community who has dedicated her time, experience and talents to the improvement of New London Public Schools.

As I cast my vote to re-elect Margaret "Peg" Curtin to New London Board of Education, I encourage others to cast their vote for her also.
