New London police capture wanted man following downtown chase
New London – Police on Wednesday captured a man wanted by the state’s parole department for removing his ankle monitoring device.
James C. Ross, 29, of no certain address, was caught after police said he fled from a motor vehicle that was stopped by police.
Ross was captured in the area of Reed and Coit streets following a short foot chase. He sustained what police said was a minor ear injury during the arrest.
Ross, a convicted felon, was charged by New London police with interfering with police. He was released on a $25,000 non-surety bond into the custody of the parole department. Court records show his latest conviction came in 2011 when he was sentenced to 30 months in prison and 30 months of special parole for narcotics possession.
Ross was taken to Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center.
