Mashantucket – The William W. Backus Hospital is hosting the 2013 Survivors in Fashion Show, “All Fired Up,” from 7 to 9 tonight at the Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino.

Twenty local cancer survivors will participate as models in this year’s breast cancer fundraiser, which also includes performances by the Pink Ribbon Tappers, singer Nicolas King of Westerly and New York, N.Y., and Sarah-Anne Clark, from the local band Melaena.

Proceeds will benefit the Backus Breast Cancer Survivors Fund, which helps local cancer survivors through investments in new technology, programs and support.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased by calling the Backus Office of Philanthropy and Development at (860) 823-6331; visiting www.backushospital.org/survivors; or stopping by The Boutique at Backus or the Backus Auxiliary Gift Shop, both at the main hospital.

I haven’t even cleared the fallen leaves from my driveway yet; I can’t begin to think about shoveling snow.
We normally see our first flakes in mid November. I think it will come around then, but hopefully we won’t see any really bad snow until 2014.
