Three Arrested in Prescription Pills Bust

Clinton Police have arrested three people on a number of drug charges following an ongoing investigation into the illegal possession of prescription pills.

Anthony Ames, 34, of Westbrook; Audrey Way, 31, of Westbrook; and Zachary Marquis, 27, of Old Saybrook; were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 20 around 3 p.m. Police seized 267 prescription pills and $200 in cash. The seized pills were oxycodone, clonazepam, and Xanax.

All three suspects were charged with possession of narcotics. Ames and Way were additionally charged with possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school and failure to keep narcotics in the original container. Ames was also charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Way was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Ames, Way, and Marquis were released on $2,500 non-surety bonds and are scheduled to appear at Middlesex Superior Court on March 4.
