In regards to the article on the freak accident reported by David Collins that involved Floyd Smeeton, "Compactor death remains a mystery," (Feb. 7); it started so nice, with joy about the life of Floyd, only then to have the article end with his past, which was irrelevant and had no bearing on who he was. There was no need to dig in the archives as if this was a criminal case, instead of an accident.
Floyd would do anything for anybody. He was kind, generous, thoughtful and caring. He was a compassionate and good neighbor. It was an accident that did not need to happen. Let Day readers share empathy and compassion for his family and friends who loved him as they mourn his untimely death.
