The Mystic Irish Parade Foundation has announced the winning participants of the 11th annual Mystic Irish Parade, which took place March 23.

• Best Bagpipe Band: New London Firefighters Pipes & Drums

• Best Bagpipe Band: Mystic Highland Pipe Band

• Best Color Guard: Bridgeport Police Department Honor Guard

• Best Antique Vehicle: Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department

• Best Youth Group: Sacred Heart School

• Best Community Group: Boys and Girls Club of Southeastern CT

• Best Fire Department Unit: Westerly Fire Department

• Best Law Enforcement Unit: CT State Police & Emerald Society Color Guard

• Best Military Unit: American Legion Post #4 Marching Color Guard

• Newcomer Award: University of Connecticut Police Department

• Larry Gemma Memorial Award: Middletown PBA Pipe Band

• Best Motorized Unit: Sphinx Shriners Motor Unit

• Roughest & Toughest Marchers: Free Men of the Sea

• Most Gregarious Unit: Center Groton Fire Department

• Most Inspirational: The Cove Center for Grieving Children

An awards presentation and volunteer appreciation party will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Harp and Hound in downtown Mystic. In addition to light food, drinks, entertainment and apparel sales, the foundation will hold the annual raffle drawing for a trip for two to Ireland.
