Stewart wins another honor. Don't act surprised

    Howdy,

UConn sophomore Breanna Stewart was named the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association on Sunday.

Yep, that's her second award in less than 24 hours.

Stewart was awarded the National Player of the Year by the Associated Press on Saturday afternoon.

It's the seventh time that a Husky has been earned the USBWA award and the fourth time in the last six seasons. The others winners were Rebecca Lobo (1995), Diana Taurasi (2003), Maya Moore (2009 and '11), Tina Charles (2010).

Stewart averaged 19.4 points and 8.1 rebounds prior to Sunday's national semifinal. And she's got two more years of eligibility, the cause of wailing and gnashing of teeth by many opposing coaches.
