New London — City police continue to seek two suspects in an armed robbery Wednesday at the Galaxy Convenience Store at 121 Montauk Ave., at the corner of Orchard Street.

The clerk at the store reported to police that two males robbed him, according to a press release. One of the men hit the clerk over the head with a facsimile hand gun, police said.

Police described the suspect who assaulted the clerk as a thin white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with green eyes and a tattoo design around the corner of one eye, according to the release. Police described the second suspect as a 6-foot-tall black male with a heavy build wearing all black.

Several witnesses at the scene reported to police that the suspects wore masks and carried firearms. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, according to the release.

The clerk suffered a minor laceration from the assault and declined medical treatment, police said.
