Norwich — Norwich Public Utilities will conduct its annual natural gas main survey and patrol during the next eight weeks.
NPU has contracted with Precision Pipeline Solutions (PPS) to conduct survey and patrol. PPS staff will be driving a grey Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with a New York license plate. The truck is equipped with signage identifying it from PPS, and it is marked as a survey vehicle on the rear of the truck and will be labeled as a contractor working for NPU.
The driver will also have a badge available identifying him as a contractor working for NPU.
“Surveying our natural gas pipeline is necessary component of our annual safety plan,” said Chris LaRose, operations division manager. “Surveying the natural gas lines allows us to find leaks and schedule necessary maintenance before any serious problems occur.”
PPS will be driving slowly over streets that have gas mains, with occasional stops as necessary. The survey will take approximately eight weeks to complete.
Anyone with concerns or questions about this project or the PPS truck’s presence can contact Norwich Public Utilities at (860) 887-2555 or at email@example.com.
