Homeland Security secretary to be CGA commencement speaker

New London - Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson will deliver the keynote address at the Coast Guard Academy's 133rd Commencement Exercises on Wednesday, May 21.

"Each commencement is a momentous event, but this one will be particularly special since Secretary Johnson will visit us for the first time to present commissions to our newest ensigns," Rear Adm. Sandra L. Stosz, the academy superintendent, said in a statement. "This is a unique opportunity to shine a national spotlight on the academy, and on the young men and women who have worked so hard to earn the 'special trust and confidence' of the president of the United States."
