The Nathan Hale schoolhouses in New London and East Had-dam are now open through October.
The schoolhouses are museums owned and run by the Connecticut Society, Sons of the American Revolution and admission is free.
The New London schoolhouse, located at 19 Atlantic St., is open daily Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. The restored schoolhouse is where the Revolutionary War patriot taught in 1774 and 1775. Hale is best known for uttering the phrase "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country" as he was hanged by the British for being a spy on Sept. 22, 1776, in New York.
The East Haddam schoolhouse located at 29 Main St., is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hale taught for five months in East Haddam before moving to New London.
